The week ahead.
It’s a strange feeling marching into a nightmare. The next two weeks will be one. Jacob will get sick again. We will be administering shots at home. We will be racing to the hospital in the middle of the night. We will be at the whiteboard at 4am figuring out which drug is next. It’s all “E” word and it all starts in 24 hours.
Jacob is going in stronger and heavier. We have that. I want to say we also know what to “E” word, but that is a naive thing to say. We know better than that.
So tomorrow we start and I’m preparing, mentally.
Preparing with my ears. Listening to Sia on repeat. Sia is my all-time favorite artist. She’s a true artist. Her art is multi-dimensional and I love how she expresses through dance. I’ve always seen music through movement. Is that normal? Do you? Whenever I hear a song, I see dancing with it in my head. I also love how Sia uses her music to speak up like her music video addressing mass shootings.
And Sia believes that talent comes in all forms. She features children all the time in her work. I love that about her too.
So I’m walking into the hospital singing this one.
Uh-oh running out of breath, but I
Oh, I, I got stamina
Uh-oh, running now, I close my eyes
Well, oh, I got stamina
And uh-oh, I see another mountain to climb
But I, I, I got stamina
Uh-oh, I need another lover, be mine
Cause I, I, I got stamina
Don’t give up, I won’t give up
Don’t give up, no no no
Don’t give up, I won’t give up
Don’t give up, no no no
It’s time for Jacob to be THE GREATEST. Finish the fight. Finish it off.
We won’t give up, we won’t give up.
Thanks for the stamina all.
