It has become clear to me that I am having conversations with bots rather than humans.
It was the steady, repetitive chant and parrot-like call-and-response that first clued me in. But it has become clear in the most recent days that I am not having a conversation that is clearly mechanical. However, these bots do not cycle through options like:
Press 1, for hours and directions
Press 2 ,for customer service
Press 3, for office directory
Instead, you get:
We do not talk with instigators or Zionists.
Dial tone.
And yelling "OPERATOR" does not work. Trust me, I've tried.
But I'm serious, OPERATOR, please?
Or rather"Can I please speak to your mother?" As I have some questions for her. Does she know how you speak to and about others? Does your mother know where you are? How does she feel about your choices in college?"
Because at this point, we need to go straight to the top, as lower management is clearly not a thought partner or even willing to listen.
OPERATOR! I have a few questions…
