Some people dream of rainbows, unicorns, love, I dream of robots.
And yes it may seem weird, but I do, and do everything I can to ensure that my dreams will fall in this direction. Before falling asleep I think of robots. I build them in my head. I design them, name them, and tell it things to do. My favorite robot is my fridge robot, I call her “Judy” that knows everything I have in it and suggests meals that are prime for consumption / lack of waste, nutrition, etc. oh and has the funniest sense of humor.
I know, it’s a strange dream. One might assume a robot dream would be a nightmare, thanks to Hollywood. But no, it's the opposite. Robot dreams are truly dreamy. 🌙
Oh, and did I mention these robots in my dreams rule the world? Humans still have a role. We’re not extinct. Most of us are cyborgs, but we are alive and thriving. We coexist with robots, relying on a superintelligence that calculates what's best for everyone. A collective decider. MATH-led for the greater good.
I can feel you eyes roll.
Yes, robots could turn on me and kill me, and data sets can be biased. But isn't that nightmare the same as the one we're living now? Humans are just as capable of killing (with joy) and creating fictional narratives and biased data sets.
And this show is a rerun. History keeps repeating itself. Thousands of years of recorded history show one common narrative: a group of humans trying to kill another group of humans. Turns out, man is not so inherently "good." There are people who believe killing others is justified. So, I'm not feeling super great about my odds with humans. We know how this story ends. A vicious cycle. Never learning from its past. "Never again" is always again.
So, I’m rooting for a plot twist.
Bring in the robots. 🤖
