Documenting Hope

Oh, the odds! For many years I played that game, with two very intense years spent in the hospital with Jacob. In that hospital room, I lived and breathed odds. Every day I plotted Jacob’s latest labs and scans, asking the BIG question: Will my son live?

And the odds were not good, nope. My data was bleak. BUT against all odds, this one took me on a boat ride today.

And he keeps defying the odds to this day because the odds are YES. Yes, that can happen! Anything can happen, both bad and good.

And that is why I always have HOPE. If anything can happen, anything can "unhappen" too. You can get stage 4 rare pediatric cancer, but you can also cure it. However, it can be hard to be hopeful. How can you have hope when you are surrounded by such doom? We seem surrounded by bad news. In the media, we see death, destruction, corruption, and disease. And in the hospital, we are told our odds.

The stories of survival and love get suppressed, never mentioned. I’m going to help change that, and you can too. Let’s start DOCUMENTING HOPE and making sure not only that these stories are told, but their learnings be integrated into mainstream medicine to CURE THEM ALL.

Please join me.

Documenting Hope is a non-profit dedicated to showcasing the recovery of children facing bleak “odds.”  Documenting Hope helps bring to light stories like my Jacob who beat the odds. That there is not only hope for your sick child, but real cures.  By rigorously documenting and researching how personalized, integrative care approaches can lead to dramatic health improvements, Documenting Hope provides a beacon of hope for families overwhelmed by horrific prognoses.

So I’m coming into the city, ladies! Please join me on September 24th to celebrate the odds that anything can happen. Join me in bringing HOPE to children and their parents who have been told the odds are against them. They are anything but. The odds are with you, and we are documenting it.

See the invite here.

And a special shout-out to my Autism Mamas. Dr. Kevin Murphy should not be missed. I’ve had the privilege of meeting him and reading his research; this is a MUST for anyone dealing with any cognitive-based diagnoses. Please send onwards to anyone you think needs to hear this.
